Joe Kawasaki (Writer/Director) has had an obsessive relationship with the moving image since he was a child, and could never think of anything else he would rather do (though he often entertains the idea of getting into theoretical physics, marine biology, or modern janitorial services). He occasionally gets employed to direct commercials and corporate image films, and sometimes writes a page or two. "Reboot" is his foray back to narrative film.
Riad Qabandi (Composer) is a Kuwaiti-American composer and producer based in the Middle-East. Over the past 12 years, his music has appeared in hundreds of TV commercials, programs, documentaries and local and regional station identities. He has also produced songs for several contemporary Middle Eastern artists. "Reboot" is his 6th independent film score, which includes the track "Identity" performed by his current band, SomaVerse.
Adel Gandomikal (Visual Effects Supervisor) left high school to be a chemist, or a pharmacist. That dream lasted 17 days.
His love for aesthetics and sounds took him into the world of production and post. He then became a director and a post artist.
It's hard to tell you what he does. This is because he has been a director, editor, motion graphics designer, compositor and sound designer. To him, it's all creative expression.
Arnold Serame (Executive Producer) is a live event and concert lighting designer/director and a live event producer and creative director, having toured around the world, starting in the 90s, with Michael Jackson, Madonna, Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand, among others.
His recent projects include designing lighting for BlizzCon 2010 and 2011, and various press events and live events for Toyota, Lexus and Scion. Arnold is an avid practitioner of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Sidney Sherman (Producer) is the founder and CEO of Rosa Entertainment, an independent film/television production and management company. Sherman's credits include: co-producer of "Lonely Hearts" starring John Travolta, James Gandolfini, Jared Leto, and Salma Hayek; producer of the IFC Films release "Go Tigers!" which had its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and was an Academy Award Finalist and Independent Spirit Award nominee for Best Documentary Feature; producer of the Emmy-winning "Amargosa", an Academy Award Finalist for Best Documentary Feature, which had its World Premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival; producer of "Stand and Be Counted", a two-part documentary series for The Learning Channel which highlighted the role of popular music in social activism and featured such rock and folk stars as: Joan Baez, Sting, Michael Stipe, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, and Melissa Etheridge. In addition, Sherman has worked with Steven Spielberg's Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation as a production consultant on a number of projects including the Academy Award Winner for Best Documentary, "The Last Days."
Curt Apduhan (Director of Photography) is an award-winning cinematographer with over 20 years in the film and commercial production industry. He has lensed several critically acclaimed feature documentaries including the Sundance Film Festival selection "Go Tigers!" (IFC), Todd Robinson's "Amargosa" (Sundance Channel) which garnered Apduhan a National Emmy for Cinematography, and "Most Valuable Players" shot for Matthew Kallis. Along with his long form cinematography, Apduhan has shot & directed over 100 commercials and corporate branding films for national advertisers such as Anthem/Blue Cross, Toyota, Lexus, Mitsubishi Motors, M&I Bank, and the John Deere Company.
This is Suzanne Bachman's (Casting Director) first solo project and she is thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazingly talented cast & crew. She would like to thank Sidney & Joe for taking a chance on her, the actors for their bravery & bold choices, and Liz Dean for the introduction. Aleem Parkar (Visual Effects Lead) grew up in Mumbai, in the heart of Bollywood and took an avid interest in filmmaking and visual storytelling at an early age. Along with an older brother who is a film director, he always knew that someday he would be inextricably involved in filmmaking.
He started working as a part-time editor while continuing his college studies majoring in Finance and Economics. Passion soon overruled the sensible and he decided to take up work in Post-production at Axiom the Picture Company.
It was a decision that changed his life. Aleem has since worked on feature films like "Sarkar," "Dil Maange More" and "Ab Tak Chappan", where he worked as an assistant to Directors of Photography and Directors alike.
In the summer of 2005, Aleem moved to the middle-east where he met filmmaker Joe Kawasaki and worked with him on several award-winning projects for over seven years.
Now known as a premier editor and motion graphics designer in Kuwait, Aleem bases most of his work out of his at-home studio with clients the world over. Many a dragon has been slayed and many a zombie double-tapped during his all-night editing sessions.
Aleem takes inspiration in everything, from Manga cartoons to stop motion animation.
He is known to deliver outstanding work under pressure.
Roland Thai (Supervising Sound Editor) is a Los Angeles based Sound Designer who has been working in the film industry since 1994. The highlights of his resume include: "L.A. Confidential," "Pan's Labryinth," and "City of God."
He is currently the Sound Designer on "End of Watch" starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena.
